TSUGA heterophylla

'Western Hemlock'. A large, fast-growing tree with gracefully spreading branches. Leaves to 20mm long, marked with 2 bright white bands beneath. Cones to 2.5cm long. A beautiful conifer, particularly when grown as a single specimen, developing into an elegant tree with a spire-like crown. It is an important timber treen in North America.
